Identified and alerted state officials to price manipulation in the natural gas market which resulted in a settlement with BP that returned $12.5M to the County.


 Construction of 4.5 MW of solar installed across 4 County facilities (MLK Hospital, Registrar-Recorder Headquarters, ISD Headquarters, and Public Works Headquarter) under Power Purchase Agreement.


 Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) achieved a portfolio electricity savings of approximately 18 million kWh compared to the goal of 14.8 million kWh.


 Won grants and funding from state agencies to support the County’s sustainability initiatives including $173.5M over 8 years from the California Public Utilities Commission to administer SoCalREN, $1.37M from South Coast Air Quality Management District to reduce emissions from mobile sources, and $200k from the California Energy Commission to develop an EV infrastructure blueprint.


 In concert with the Chief Sustainability Officer and the City of LA, worked with Electrify America (Volkswagen) to develop a plan that would spend up to $45M in the LA region and helped it get approved by the California Air Resources Board. ISD is leading the deployment of EV charging stations by a goal of 10,000 by 2030.


 In support of SB-100, ISD led the way in reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions from major stationary sources by 50% and identified an additional 30% reduction opportunity if the Central Civic Center facility was upgraded with the latest emissions reduction technology.
